    Thing 44: The Economy

On GasBuddy I explored local gas prices although none for our town were listed specifically. I think this tool works better for larger areas. The town that was listed only has three gas stations and most of the time they are all priced the same. It was nice to see trends from a year ago. Hard to believe has was $3.78 last year in a neighboring town.

I tried mint.com - but it wouldn't recognize our local bank's website. I already track most of our financial info through a computer program. In spite of the site's security set up, I am still a little nervous about having info compiled on a website.

I regularly use U of M's gardening site for advice, especially when it comes to odd insects or tree issues. It is very helpful.

I haven't personally used craigslist, but my sister sold her car in an afternoon using the site. I have used freecycle in the past, but have found it a little disconcerting meeting people I have never spoken to in real life to exchange free stuff.

The pig on Feed the Pig is very creepy looking. It looked like a site I may explore more on a rainy day.

I was glad to explore this topic. Thanks for including it!
